Attorney John Landreth is proud to be a life long Charlottean, graduating from Charlotte Christian School in 2000. John zealously represents the citizens of Charlotte and the surrounding areas who are facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges, Driving While Impaired (DWI) and traffic infractions.

Mr. Landreth graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a minor in Religion. While at Lee University John was an active member of the Alpha Gamma Chi fraternity, serving as historian, treasurer and president. During his time as president, John organized and oversaw various community outreach projects. His biggest achievement was the “Iron Man” Softball Tournament benefiting Cystic Fibrosis which raised thousands of dollars for research. This tournament later went into the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest continual game to date, lasting almost 4 days. Mr. Landreth was also a member of the greek council and the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society.

Mr. Landreth earned his law degree from the Charlotte School of Law in 2010. During his time there Mr. Landreth worked with the 26th Judicial District Public Defender, 20B Judicial District District Attorney and Legal Aid of the Southern Piedmont. Mr. Landreth was given the Pro Bono Honors distinction upon graduation. Mr. Landreth was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2010.

Mr. Landreth accepted a position in the 27A Judicial District Public Defender’s Office in 2010. During his time in the 27A Judicial District, Mr. Landreth was happy to serve as a mentor and judge for the Gaston County Teen Court Program. Teen Court is a deferred prosecution program that allows students with no prior criminal history to have their charges dismissed after completing a “sentence” imposed by their peers in Teen Court. Here Mr. Landreth coached and trained students as they acted in the roles of prosecution and defense attorneys. He also took the bench on several occasions to preside over cases in Teen Court. Mr. Landreth also served as the treasurer for the Gaston County Bar Association.

As a native of Charlotte, Mr. Landreth feels a responsibility to give back to the community where he grew up. His compassion for people is portrayed in the way he advocates for his clients in every level of the court system.

When not practicing law, John enjoys spending time with his wife Lauren and their dog Jack, listening to live music, traveling and pulling for the Duke Blue Devils, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Cubs.

If you or someone you know has been charged with a Criminal, Traffic or DWI Offense, Mr. Landreth would be happy to assist you through this difficult time.
